I've track raced, ridden Harleys, and have been around MCs for the last 20+ years - recently moved to SD. I came across WOM when searching Yelp & Google for motorcycle inspection mechanics. Brent was highly responsive for a hot request to inspect a 10+ year old KTM I was about to purchase- he was busy so he asked me to meet him at his shop /garage. Don't let the small but mighty garage fool you, he has an eye and ear for the details, and has clearly done inspections for used bikes many times over. When it was all said and done, the Craigslist transaction went through and Brent gave me the negotiating power to knock $800+ off the asking price.
I had blown fork seals on my YZ 250. Brent replaced them in one day and everything works great! Price was way better than taking it to a dealer too! He's my go-to mechanic for all of our dirt bikes.
Brent is one of the best mechanics and is knowledgeable on just about every make and model of bike. I came in and was helped right away. He also went above and beyond and tightened a few things he found and didn’t even charge me for the extra labor. Great guy, great service, and great spot to take your bike for mechanical issues. I won’t take my Repsol anywhere else to be worked on! Highly recommend his services.
I had a great experience with Brent. I had just purchased a 2015 Harley-Davidson Dyna Low Rider and wanted to get it back in tiptop shape. The work done included the following: - Battery - Front and rear brake bleed - Check and tighten major critical fasteners - Front suspension upgrade (RaceTech springs and emulator) Brent was super responsive and transparent about all the work. Thank you!
Brent was awesome! I needed some wheel bearings installed last minute while putting my Buell back together. I took the wheels and bearings and he took care of it in about 10 minutes while I waited during my break at work. Super efficient and reasonably priced. I would go back for sure for other things.
I took my ol' Harley to Brent where he and his crew jumped rite on it. They repaired my broken shift linkage ( not an easy fix) AND did 3 pat oil change And did overview of bike finding a few other repair needs. They just fixed them while working on the bike. Thats my description of a mechanic. He's working on my vehicle ,sees a item needing fixed and handles it. The bike was in his shop at 9am and out by 1pm= 4 hrs. AWESOME. I will definitely be back with bike as well as my wife's Harley trike. I don't normally leave YELP reviews, but they really deserve it .
Brent is the man he did the top end and stainless valves on my crf450 and had it done quick I'd highly recommend him over a dealership for several reasons. 1.He will give you honest advice on your bike 2. His turn around time is super fast 3. His prices are very fair 4. Support local riders (he actually rides) 5. No egos or bs
Brent from Wide Open Motorcycle Repair is top notch and my preferred choice for my 2020 Harley Davidson Low Rider S. I found him on Yelp and there is no one else I would share work on my bike. His prices are a fraction of what dealerships charge and it doesn't take four hours to do a 1K service. A quick in and out, while holding a conversation with you is exactly what I miss from back home. He doesn't pressure you into coming back, spending an arm and a leg on parts and gives you advice in case you ever want to do your own maintenance. 5/5 all the way. There is no work too big or project too small. Brent also installed my Vance and Hines exhaust system and crash bar. For as long as I live here, Wide Open Motorcycle Repair is my first and only stop when it comes to preventive and corrective maintenance.
Brent is the man. He did a complete fork conversion for me and put a set of 2004 CRF250 forks onto my 2000 XR400R. Total game changer. I dabble in mechanics but the fork conversion was a little out of my comfort zone so I reached out to Wide Open Motorcycle Repair per a friends recommendation. Brent walked me through my different options and helped me figure out what parts I needed and what was in budget for me. The whole time it felt more like problem solving with a a friend than paying some mechanic who's trying to squeeze all cash he could out of me. Brent was transparent, honest, extremely reasonably priced, and I couldn't be happier with the final product.
Finding a mechanic willing to wrench on a Chinese motorbike is hard to find. So stoked to find one! Wide Open brought my Black Betty back to life. She was a challenge, but I'm so happy to have her running fine again. Thanks Wide Open Moto for all the hard work.
My new favorite place to get my bike service/ parts installed. brent is a really cool down to earth and honest guy. does great work in a timely manner. would for sure recommend him to anyone who needs service.
I heard great things about Brent and trusted him for a full belts and valve check/adjust on my 'new-to-me' 2008 Hypermotard. Prior to the service date he was very responsive to my questions and provided advice on various technical questions. By noon the same day he serviced the rear brake, installed new belts, checked valve tolerances, installed a frame slider, and helped me baseline and adjust the suspension. All that while also having a great conversation about bikes and life in San Diego. Brent is a very accomplished mechanic who works in a very methodical and organized way. Friendly personality, highly competent work, fantastic prices, it does not get better than this. If you live anywhere near San Diego I recommend Brent for all your motorcycle needs!
I am so happy I found Wide Open Motorcycle Repair! I have been putting off getting my fork seals replaced and rebuilding my bikes suspension for a while now. Brent is very knowledgeable and recommended what I needed. I went with his recommendation and could not be happier! I went on a few hour ride today to really test out the bike and see if I could tell a serious difference. It is like a whole new bike. If you want good quality work done by someone you feel has your best interest at heart, go see Brent at Wide Open Motorcycle Repair.
Honestly Brent is amazing and you will not be disappointed with how he treats you and your bike. His prices are the absolute best in the area and he will always do his best to make sure that he not only keeps you in the loop with the maintenance or repair he is doing but also is constantly looking for ways to save you money. Couldn't ask for a better motorcycle mechanic for the few bikes I own and I will happily return in the future with any problems that arise or work that needs to be done. Super knowledgeable and always taked the time to explain the process he will have to go through as well if you have any questions! So much better than some overpriced mechanic shop in the area! Thanks again Brent I appreciate you and all your hard work!!
Brent with Wide Open Motorcycle Repair did a great job on my 2000 CR250R rebuild. I needed a full top and bottom end rebuild on the engine as well as replacing all the pivot bearings on the entire motorcycle. Brent was very responsive and kept me up to speed every step of the way. I would highly recommend his services.
I was referred to Brent by a good friend and was glad I went to him. He got my KTM 500 EXC running smooth and addressed all the issues/concerns/mods I brought up. He is very knowledgable and gets the work done fast even though his shop is always full with other bikes to work on. Very impressed with his turnaround, efficiency, and quality of work. I will definitely be using him for years to come! Services: Electrical repair, Steering & suspension repair, Engine repair, Oil change
